High-Speed Internet As Vital As Electricity, Gas, and Water
The Washington Post reported today that British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Tuesday that high-speed Internet access has become as "indispensable as electricity, gas and water." Is high-speed that essential?
School librarianship has evolved over the past couple of decades. We can no longer rely on books, periodicals, and traditional web resources. We have to be working with students to ensure that they have the information skills necessary for the 21st century. We have to embrace new technologies, learn to use them effectively as part of our school library media programs, and share our knwoledge with teachers and students. The world has moved from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0, and so must we!
